Highland Elementary named its Teacher of the Year for 2017-2018. Jaimie Lavergne, a pre-k teacher, was chosen and recognized during the school’s first Synergy Assembly held in October. Lavergne has been teaching at Highland for the past six years and in the educational system for the past 18 years. She taught 12 years in Acadia Parish. (Submitted Photo)
