The annual St. Landry Parish Council on Aging Mardi Gras Dance was held Monday at the Northwest Community Center.
Seniors enjoyed a live band by Big J & The Zydeco Dog Pound and danced to Zydeco and traditional Cajun music.
Mistress of Ceremonies was Laura Balthazar. COA Executive Director is Mary Chapman.
Seniors were also participants and competed for different coveted trophy titles, including, The Best Female and Best Male Dancers, King and Queen, The Most Original Costume, and The Most Prettiest Costume.
Judging the senior contest participants were Eunice Police Chief Randy Fontenot, Judy Johnson of Eunice Extended Care, Cheryl Long with Med Source; and Theresa Stelly of Louisiana Health Care.
Refreshments of King Cake and gumbo were served.
