The Eunice Community Gardens is currently offering garden boxes for a nominal fee of $25 a year.
The Eunice Community Garden is located on the property of the former Guillory Development Center (behind the current Department of Motor Vehicles office) in Eunice. The ECG will be a place where area churches and civic organizations can rent a garden box each year to grow vegetables, fruits, etc.
The produce grown can be either distributed to the needy, donated to the Eunice Food Bank, or even sold at a Farmer’s Market which will be starting up on-site in the near future. This worthwhile venture is the perfect opportunity for church, youth and civic groups to extend a hand to those in need in our city. Future plans include a private prayer garden, chicken coop, giant rain stick, and fun, hands-on learning activities for adults, children and those with special needs.
