‘The Savannah Sipping Society’ premiers Sept. 10 at Players’ Theatre

Body

Who remembers “The Golden Girls”? Well, you are in for a treat, because this show was written by one of their writers!
What is even more awesome is that we are only two weeks away from the opening night of “The Savannah Sipping Society” and Eunice Players’ Theatre is excited to bring this incredibly funny and heartwarming show, performed by this amazing cast, to our stage!
The dates and times of the play are at 7 p.m. Sept. 10, 11, 13, 15, 17 and a 2 p.m. matinee Sept. 14.
Bonnie Pitre Kyzar plays Randa Covington, a perfectionist and workaholic who is struggling to cope with a surprise career derailment that, unfortunately, reveals that she has no life and no idea how to get one.
Michelle Reed plays Dot Haigler who has been recently widowed and plans for an idyllic retirement have gone to the wayside as she faces the unsettling prospect of starting a new life from scratch—and all alone.
Lauren Benoit Bourgeois plays MarlaFaye Mosley, a good ol’ Texas gal, who is a recent divorcee and the strength of her desire to establish a new life is equaled only by her desire to wreak a righteous revenge on her ex.
Kelly Peart Bertrand plays Jinx Jenkins who is a spunky ball of fire that offers her services as a much-needed life coach for these women. However, she over-looks the fact that she’s the one most in need of sage advice.
Over the course of six months, filled with laughter, hilarious misadventures, and the occasional liquid refreshment, these middle-aged women successfully bond and find the confidence to jump start their new lives. Together, they discover lasting friendships and a renewed determination to live in the moment — and most importantly, realize it’s never too late to make new old friends.
If you haven’t gotten tickets or made reservations yet, what are you waiting for? I believe that “Randa Covington” would find it perfectly logical to purchase tickets and make reservations for this show…and I would listen to her…because she does everything with logic.
Tickets are available online at www.euniceplayerstheater.com for $20 each. You can also call 337-888-9902 to purchase tickets. Season Ticket holders may call 866-856-3653 or 337-376-6610 to reserve their seats for the show.
