Ceremony to celebrate St. Landry Parish Courthouse renovation

    A ceremony at 10 a.m. Tuesday will celebrate the near completion of a renovation project begun in January 2021. The building in Opelousas was constructed in 1939 and after more than eight decades it had problems. “When I got back here it was raining inside the building for the exterior walls,” said Parish President Jesse Bellard. “Our first project was to seal the outside of the courthouse.…
