Church Point to celebrate Le Grand Réveil Acadien

The Le Grand Réveil Acadien will be celebrated on Oct. 18 with a day filled with music, art, language, and faith throughout Church Point.
Festivities will include:
— 9 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.: Artisans’ Market located at Le Vieux Dépôt, Main Street at Rue Iry Lejeune. The open-air market will showcase the talent of local artisans, featuring handmade, locally grown, or sourced items that celebrate Acadian culture.
— 10 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.: Open House at the Le Vieux Presbytère Museum, 205 Rue Iry Lejeune, to explore exhibits highlighting the history and traditions of our community.
— 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.: French-speaking on the Porch at Le Vieux Presbytère Museum. This gathering welcomes both beginners and native speakers to practice and celebrate the French language.
— Noon to 2 p.m.: Live Cajun music performances are planned at Le Vieux Presbytère Museum.
— 4 p.m.: La Messe en Français (Catholic Mass in French) Held at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church, located at Church Blvd. and Bienvenu St., this French Mass is a meaningful tribute to our faith and cultural roots.
The Cajun’s Event Center, 9210 Church Point Highway, offers live music and dancing Saturday night.
