City Council meeting held Tues.

With only four items on Tuesday’s agenda, the Crowley City Council met for a brief meeting. Nobody in attendance seemed to mind leaving the meeting after just 12 minutes.
Among the items that were brought up before the council were:
• Approving a partial payment of $295,206.57 to Cecil Perry Improvements for the ongoing “Restoration of the Rock filter at the Waste Water Treatment Facility”.
• The approval of a resolution to call for a public hearing to grant SLEMCO a non-exclusive franchise.
• Authorizing Mayor Greg Jones to enter into a 60-month agreement with Cox Communications for internet/ internet service for Crowley City Hall and other city services.
• Resolution to consider authorizing a lease to the SMILE Community Action Agency for office space in the Crowley Enterprise Center.
All three of the aforementioned issues passed and the meeting adjourned.
At the end of the meeting, City Engineer Tim Mader wanted to let people know that the Northern Avenue bridge will be reopened near the end of October or early November.
