A century-old Confederate monument on the St. Landry Parish Courthouse grounds is about to be removed.
A Parish Council committee voted unanimously to forward the decision on removing the monument to the full Council meeting on March 16. The committee vote included considering a replacement for the monument located on the northeast corner of the grounds
