In an about-face, the monument to Confederate soldiers on the St. Landry Parish Courthouse grounds will be moved to Camp Moore Confederate Cemetery and Museum near Kentwood.
Camp Moore was the mentioned as the first location for the 102-year-old monument.
In June, a site off Gradnigo Island Road northwest of Opelousas was announced by Parish President Jesse Bellard.
