DOTD announces $1M road construction project starting today in Eunice

A $1 million construction project on La. 3116 from Sittig Street, at the Acadia Parish line, to East Maple Avenue is to start Monday, according to a news release from the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development.
The project will consist of milling asphaltic pavement, pavement patching, asphalt overlay and related work.
The work is estimated to take place Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., weather permitting.
Drivers should expect delays, as intermittent lane closures will be required to perform the work.
The road will be open to regular traffic with a 9-foot maximum lane width restriction on oversized loads passing through the work zone.
Emergency vehicles will have access through this area.
The project is estimated for completion in December 2024.
The project is part of DOTD’s Road Transfer Program.
