Dr. Zebediah Stearns was appointed interim St. Landry Parish coroner during the Parish Council meeting on Wednesday.
The Council also set an election on Nov. 8 for the coroner’s position.
Coroner Russell Pavich died on Jun 10 after serving 26 years.
