Glenda Young, assistant professor nursing retires from LSUE after 18 years of committed service to nursing education.
Pink Lady of the Month was chosen. Helen Tanner was chosen as Pink Lady of the Month.
Teche Federal Bank, located at 840 E. Laurel, Eunice, received the Eunice Bulb & Blossom Garden’s marker of Business Yard of the Week.
Duran kicks for Bayou Bowl. Eunice kicker/punter chips in seven points to Louisiana all-stars’ 31-14 victory over Texas team.
Nine Blue Jays awarded 6-A All-District honors. Brennan Ardoin, Wesley Richard, Tyler McGee, Stuart Young and Jeff Fontenot awarded positions on district First Team.
Coleman will direct LSN online operations. Tom Coleman, a native of Eunice, has joined Louisiana State Newspapers as the company’s Online Director.
1st Franklin Finance cuts the ribbon. Ashley Fontenot cuts a ribbon signifying grand opening of 1st Franklin Financial on West Laurel. Others participating are, Alderwoman Chawana Fontenot, Miss Eunice Kandy Andrepont, Racheal Ardoin, supervisor; Jeremy Cranfield, Bambi Lafleur, Chamber of Commerce President Paul Brown, Chamber President elect Darren D’Aubin, Dr. Jason Smith and Ben Marcantel.
Wander Down Under” was the theme of Story Time hour at the library. Pat Robichaux, guest reader read “Snap” by Marcia Vaughn.
Playing It Forward. Noted Cajun fiddler and entertainer Hadley Castille visited with children at Jean Lafitte’s Summer Cultural camp on Thursday, giving a history lesson about the fiddle and entertaining the children with his Cajun music.
Third baseman Jacque Fruge watches signals from his coach. Fruge scored Wesley Richard on a fielder’s choice Thursday.
