Grand prize winners at Highland Elementary. Highland Elementary students Caroline and Brianna Frey participated in the Math A Thon held to raise money for St. Jude’s Hospital. These sisters raised the most money for the cause and were awarded with T-shirts, book bags, and an MP-3 player.
Water coloring at the Cultural Center summer camp. The Jean Lafitte National Historical Park and Preserves’ Prairie Acadian Cultural Center provided Summer Culture Fun Days for children ages 9 and 10 recently. Conner Fontenot, 9, water colors a Louisiana cultural hand-drawn picture with a wildflower theme.
Getting the message out. Coach Sam Johnson watches as workers from H. Brown Inc. installed a new electronic message board at Eunice High School Thursday morning. It will be used to communicate messages to the student body and parents to the general public and replaces the message board seen in lower portion of the photo.

Eunice High coach assumes LHSCA presidency. Peloquin head of Louisiana coaches’ association for 2007-2008 school year. Eunice High’s Coach Durell Peloquin Jr. has been elected president of the Louisiana High School Coaches Association for the 2007-2008 school year.

State Rep. Mickey Guillory received an award from the Louisiana Family Forum Action for his voting record supporting Louisiana families. His voting record was one short of a perfect 100 percent, Forum officials said.
