Eunice weathered Hurricane Ida without any reported significant damage.
“We fared probably the best you can possibly fare when you’ve got a hurricane that hits Louisiana that size,” Eunice Mayor Scott Fontenot said. “Everything was good in town.”
But Fontenot added, “I’m heartbroken for people in southeastern Louisiana. It is terrible. We’ve sent some help that way.”
