A former St. Landry Parish attorney, John T. Olivier, retired on Dec. 31 as the longest serving Louisiana Supreme Court clerk of court.
Olivier served the Louisiana Supreme Court for 36 years, including 25 years and 9 months as clerk of court. Olivier has the distinction of being the longest serving clerk of court in the history of the Louisiana Supreme Court.
