The Fourth of July celebration in St. Landry Parish begins Friday with the three-day St. Landry BBQ Festival at the Yambilee grounds, 1939 W. Landry St., Opelousas.
Activities are to include carnival rides, petting zoo, local bands and food.
The festival is to open at 5 p.m. Friday and end Sunday with a fireworks display.
