Sheriff Bobby J. Guidroz has announced that his office has been approved for funding under the FY 17 Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) Program in the amount of $15,238 for the St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office.
“This grant will fund and add five new in-car video cameras and all the hardware needed to function to the current fleet. These new cameras have the capability to video and record front of the police unit and the rear, Guidroz stated.”
“In establishing financial assistance programs, Congress linked the receipt of federal funding to compliance with federal civil rights laws. In the last 10 years, the St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office has been the recipient of over $1,000,000.00 dollars in state and federal grants.”
Sheriff Guidroz stated, “Marshall Moreau, my administrative assistant works tirelessly researching grant opportunities. His hard work and dedication to duty has been paying off for the St. Landry Parish taxpayers.”
