An anonymous report of an incident involving the LSUE softball team was, in part, confirmed in a statement from Van Reed, LSUE director of public relations.
”LSU Eunice has been made aware of an incident involving members of the Lady Bengal Softball team at an off-campus location.
“The LSUE administration is investigating the incident and will determine if disciplinary action is necessary after the investigation is complete.
“The University will not comment on the incident until after the investigation is complete.”
The Eunice News received a telephone voice message on Thursday that said, “The press is at LSUE.”
The message continued, “Some of the girls were in girls softball bullied a girl with autism, dragged her by her legs through the grass, stripped her, took pictures of her .. I don’t know if you know about that.”
According to KATC, the incident happened after the LSUE – Lamar State College Port Arthur softball doubleheader Tuesday.
LSUE won the doubleheader, 8-4, 6-4 over the Lady Seahawks.
Neither Eunice Police or the Acadia Parish Sheriff’s Office were aware of any incident occurring locally.
