The Rev. Andrew Bates is the new pastor at First Baptist Church in Eunice.
Rev. Bates comes to Eunice from Baton Rouge.
Rev. Bates has been married for the past eight years to his best friend Emily Smart Bates and the couple has one daughter Abigail who is two-years-old.
His first official delivered sermon to his new congregation was on Feb. 5.
