Winter Musical at St. Luke Saturday
The St. Luke Inspirational Chorus of Vidrine will present a Winter Musical at 6 p.m. Saturday.
There will be male chorus, groups, choir, soloist, and praise team as part of the program.
Guest group will be Betty Boss & The Annointed New Inspiration Gospel singers from Alexandria.

Acadian Baptist Center to hold children’s retreat
Acadian Baptist Center near Richard is holding a children’s retreat for kids in kindergarten through sixth grade, Jan. 26-27.
The camp will involve the search and discovery of the “Big Foot.”

IHS All Sports auction set for Feb. 3.
The Iota High School All Sports Backers Auction will be held Feb. 3 at the St. Francis gym in Iota.
The social hour and sign in will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. with the auction beginning at 7:30 p.m.
There will be a silent auction as well as a live auction.
Ticket price is $20 per person or $30 per couple, and includes a jambalaya meal and drinks.
Tickets can be purchased from any athlete or at the door. There are also packages for businesses to purchase.

Lenten Day of Reflection set Feb. 17
A Lenton Day of Reflection, with a theme of Embracing Change, Maintaining Values will be held from 8:30 a.m. until 2 p.m. Feb. 17, at St. Pius X School Theatre.
Speakers will include the Rev. Chester C. Arceneaux, Katie Austin and Kessie Thomas.
Cost is $25 in advance, and $30 at the door, and will include a light breakfast, lunch, and snacks provided.

Black Women Achievements Against The Odds Sunday
The city of Eunice invites the public to a festival parade, program and exhibit, “Black Women Against the Odds,” on Sunday.
Keynote speaker and parade marshal will be a Eunice native Col. Dr. Gwendolyn Hebert Thompson.
There will be a parade beginning at the Southeast Center at 2 p.m. and will conclude at the Liberty Theater with a program at 3 p.m. Afterwards the City Hall lobby will have an exhibit of Black Women Achievement Against the Odds.

Free child car seat installation
Free installation of child car safety seats is being offered from 4 to 6 p.m. every Monday at Word Ministries, 1960 W. Laurel Ave., Eunice.
The seats will be installed by a nationally certified technicians.

Saturday programs at the Prairie Acadian Cultural Center, 250 W. Park Ave., Eunice, are the Explore & Restore craft workshop for kids, from 10 a.m. to noon; Cajun Conversations meets 1 to 2:30 p.m. to learn and practice conversational Cajun French; Music and dancing kicks off at 2:45 p.m. and ends with the cooking demonstration and sampling at 4 p.m. Admission to the center and programs is free.

VFW bingo held Thursdays, Sundays
The VFW Post 8971 holds bingo for the public at 7 p.m. every Thursday and Sunday at the VFW Hall located on U.S. 190 East. All proceeds from Bingo games goes back to the community.

Knights of Columbus sells white crosses
The Eunice Knights of Columbus Council 1745 is currently selling white crosses to be placed in yards.
The crosses are available from Bill Parrie at 251 N. 6th St., or at Bertrand’s Printing, or in front of St. Anthony Church after each morning Mass at 7 a.m., 9 a.m., and 11 a.m.
A $5 donation is requested.
Funeral honor guard for vets needs help
A foundation has been set for the St Landry Parish Veteran Funeral Honor Guard and now it needs donations to become a reality, according to Lincoln “Link” Savoie, coordinator.
