Bulb & Blossom meeting set Monday
The Eunice Bulb and Blossom Garden Club will meet at 6 p.m. on Monday in the home of Fran Guillory.
This meeting will be the plant exchange and all members are asked to bring a plant.
Membership is open to anyone wishing to take part.

Coffee with the sheriff Saturday
Acadia Parish Sheriff K.P. Gibson is inviting the public to Coffee with the Sheriff at 8 a.m. Saturday at the Rice Palace in Crowley.
Gibson will give an update on the Office’s progress and answer questions.

FAFSA workshop at EHS on March 13
Eunice High School will have a FAFSA workshop for parents from 8:30 a.m. until noon on March 13.
Parents are asked to bring 2017 tax forms if you would like to complete your FAFSA at school.

Unity March set for Saturday
There will be a Unity March beginning at 9 a.m. Saturday at City Hall and will conclude at the Word Ministries on West Laurel. The purpose and mission of the walk is to bring and unite all together.
Religious leaders, community leaders, city officials, citizens, individuals are invited to walk together in unity, solidarity and civility. The theme of the peaceful march is “Putting Unity Back in the Community.”
At the conclusion of the march at Word Ministries there will be leaders who will speak. A lunch will be served.

LSU Eunice Book Sale set for April 22
When doing Spring cleaning this spring, remember to bring in old books, magazines, etc. to the LSU Eunice Library for its book sale set for the week of April 22.

Acadian Cultural Center host Ransom
The Acadian Cultural Center hosts “Debris Art,” an exhibit by local artist Trish Ransom, from Thursday, March 7, through Wednesday, March 27.
Admission to both the exhibit and the center is free and open to the public. The Acadian Cultural Center of Jean Lafitte National Historical Park and Preserve is located at 501 Fisher Road, Lafayette.

Usher Appreciation program March 9
The Greater True Light Baptist Church in Eunice will host its 12th annual Usher’s Appreciation Fellowship and mini worshop at 10 a.m., Saturday, March 9.
Ushers from all surrounding area churches are invited. Ushers are also invited and recognized during a 8:30 a.m. service March 10.
The pastor of the church is Rev. Jermaine Tezeno.

Free hearing aids, amplified phones
Free amplified telephones and hearing aids are available to Louisiana residents. The program is funded by a state agency, Louisiana Commission for the Deaf.

Clovis Crawfish books on sale
The City of Eunice is selling Clovis Crawfish books by Mary Alice Fontenot as a fundraiser connected to the city’s 125th anniversary.

DAV volunteer drivers needed
The DAV (Disabled American Veterans) is in dire need of volunteer drivers to drive veterans from Eunice to Alexandria.

Farmers’ Market open Saturdays
The Eunice Farmers’ Market is meeting on South 2nd Street from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturdays.

Free child car seat installation
Free installation of child car safety seats is being offered from 4 to 6 p.m. every Monday at Word Ministries, 1960 W. Laurel Ave., Eunice.
The seats will be installed by a nationally certified technicians.

VFW bingo held Thursdays, Sundays
The VFW Post 8971 holds bingo for the public at 7 p.m. every Thursday and Sunday at the VFW Hall located on U.S. 190 East. All proceeds from Bingo games goes back to the community.

Evangeline Parish adult education classes
The Evangeline Parish adult education classes will be offered from 5 to 8 p.m. every Monday at the Basile police station.

Funeral honor guard for vets needs help
A foundation has been set for the St Landry Parish Veteran Funeral Honor Guard and now it needs donations to become a reality, according to Lincoln “Link” Savoie, coordinator.
