Coronavirus Blood Supply Drive Apr. 21
The LifeShare blood mobile will be at Acadian Medical Center parking lot from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. on April 21.

Be patient as only a certain number of donors will be allowed on the bus at a time.

Players’ Theatre assesses season
The Eunice Players’ Theatre Board members continue to assess their ability to produce three shows in its 51st season, with guidance from government officials on when it is safe to begin rehearsals.
Season ticket holders will receive letters regarding the new roll out of shows, once a decision is made.
Members and the general public should check the Facebook page for updates, as well as posts delving back into the theatre’s archives.
Patience and understanding is greatly appreciated.

Administrative Day cancelled
The Eunice Rotary Club has cancelled its annual Administrative Professionals’ Day scheduled for the end of April.
With the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and much discussion and many weeks of planning the Rotary has decided to cancel the event.

Eunice Symphony Orchestra postponed
The Eunice Symphony Orchestra, now in its 19th year, is gearing up for its concert, “Classics by Candlelight.”
However with the conornavirus the orchestra made a decision to posposed the April concert to a later date.

St. Mathilda dinner sales rescheduled
Spring Dinner sales at St. Mathilda scheduled for April 5, have been rescheduled for a later date.
All tickets sold will be recognized as good at that time so save them.
However, if you prefer not to wait, you may get a refund by contacting the rectory by calling 457-3286 for an appointment before going there.
The annual raffle will be held at the scheduled date and all parishioners are asked to be sure stubs and funds are turned in to the rectory by 3 p.m. on Wednesday, April 1. Again you may call 457-3286 for an appointment to the make sure someone is in the office or you mail to: St. Mathilda, Spring Dinners, PO Box 346, Eunice, LA 70535

Eunice Players’ suspend season
Eunice Players’ Theatre is keenly aware of the world’s medical crisis and the need for sheltering in place and refraining from gathering in small and large groups.
While the first show of the 51st season was already underway with set building and cast rehearsals, all activity at EPT is now ceased, and the Board of Directors has made the decision to postpone the first show indefinitely.

VFW bingo, VA van trips canceled
The VFW bingo nights have been closed by order of the governor until the coronavirus issue has passed.
Also the Veterans Administration (VA) has cancelled all VA van trips to the VA facilities until further notice.
Veterans with appointments should contact their VA facility for further information about cancellation or rescheduling.

Vet organizations seek members
The three veterans organizations in Eunice are looking for new members. American Legion Post 129, VFW Post 8971 and the DAV chapter are welcoming new members.

Mt. Olive Cemetery volunteers needed
Families of the Mount Olive Cemetery, located at 1199 E. Ardoin (on Old Crowley Road), are in dire need of volunteers for lawn maintenance, grass mowing, and up keep of the cemetery. It is a public cemetery, established many years ago.
Family members of families buried at this cemetery are asked to help in the upkeep.

St. Louis Cemetery asking for donations
The St. Louis Cemetery, located at the corner of St. Louis Road and Sittig in Eunice is seeking donations for the upkeep and maintenance of the cemetery. The cemetery strictly operates by donations and volunteers. The cemetery is not a private one.
Families who wish to donate are asked to send to Keith Lavergne, cemetery manager, at St. Louis Cemetery, P.O. Box 325, Eunice, LA 70535.

Free hearing aids, amplified phones
Free amplified telephones and hearing aids are available to Louisiana residents. The program is funded by a state agency, Louisiana Commission for the Deaf.

Funeral honor guard for vets needs help
A foundation has been set for the St Landry Parish Veteran Funeral Honor Guard and now it needs donations to become a reality, according to Lincoln “Link” Savoie, coordinator.
