EHS senior project Toy Drive underway
Eunice High School seniors Cameron Fontenot and Taneisha Chavis are collecting toys for a Toy Drive through Dec. 20. All toys can be brought by Eunice High School.

Holiday Sing-along in Eunice
A Holiday Sing-along is planned from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Friday at the courtyard between the Liberty Center and the Prairie Acadian Cultural Center.
There will be hot chocolate and music by Ryan and Melanie Blanchard and Jordon Vidrine.
There also will be a reading of the Cajun Night Before Christmas.

Bulb Garden Club Social set Monday
The Eunice Bulb and Blossom Garden Club will have their Christmas Social at the home of Dean Deshotel at 5 p.m. Monday.
Dinner will be provided for all members.

Free Visit with Santa, donation canned good
There will be a visit-sitting with Santa with a donation of canned goods to be given to Eunice Food Bank at Bengal Outdoor, at 1446 Hwy. 190 West, Eunice on Tuesday, Thursday, and Dec. 20 from 4:30 until 6:30 p.m.
Pictures and hot chocolate will be available.

Southern Styles & Cuts at 554 Aymond St. will host a first Annual Open Your Heart Toy Drive Saturday from 9 a.m. until.

The church choir of First Baptist Church in Chataignier will present a Christmas Musical, “The Gift Goes On,” at 6 p.m. today and Dec. 18 at 10 a.m.

American Legion, VFW, DAV party set
The American Legion Eunice Post 129, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and Disabled American Veterans will hold its annual Christmas Banquet for members and spouses at the VFW Hall (Hwy. 190 East) at 7 p.m. Monday.

launches ‘Business and Breakfast’
The B.I. Moody III College of Business Administration at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette has launched a “Business & Breakfast” program, which offers businesses the opportunity to recruit and interact directly with business students at the College.
The program, in turn, enables students to network with – and learn more about – the visiting company.
As the exclusive host for the morning, the visiting company provides breakfast for the students, while the College provides setup and all promotions. For businesses seeking to meet with specific types of students, targeted partnerships with student organizations and majors are available.

Library host Christmas craft day Dec. 21
The Eunice Public Library will hold a Christmas Make and Take a Craft day on Dec. 21 from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. for children ages 2-10, while supplies last.

EPT membership meeting set Dec. 22
The Eunice Players’ Theatre will hold their annual membership meeting on Dec. 22, at 7 p.m. at the theater located on South Second Street.
All season ticket holders are invited and encouraged to attend. A discussion of the 2017 season and annual Irving Awards ceremony will be on the agenda.

Christmas Musical at New Zion set for Dec. 23
The public is invited to a Christmas Musical “The Great Joy of Christmas” on Friday, Dec. 23 at 6 p.m. at the New Zion Baptist Church in Eunice, presented by their church choir.
The church is located at 251 Nimitz St. The pastor of the church is Rev. Allen W. Ben.

Saturday program at the Prairie Acadian Cultural Center
Saturday programs at the Prairie Acadian Cultural Center, 250 W. Park Ave., Eunice, are the Explore & Restore craft workshop for kids, from 10 a.m. to noon; Cajun Conversations meets 1 to 2:30 p.m. to learn and practice conversational Cajun French; Music and dancing kicks off at 2:45 p.m. and ends with the cooking demonstration and sampling at 4 p.m. Admission to the center and programs is free.
