Free Family Fun event at First Baptist
There will be a free Family Fun Hallelujah Hop event from 10 a.m. until noon on Saturday, March 27 at First Baptist Church.
There will be a petting zoo, pony rides, food and drinks, carnival games, face painting, balloon animals, crafts and thousands of eggs. There will be door prizes.

Concealed carry class set March 27
The St Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office is hosting a one-day concealed carry permit class at 7:30 a.m. March 27 at 211 W. Park Ave., Eunice.
The course is $100 dollars and $80 for a spouse. The course includes fingerprints, notary or online help, application, classroom, range, and a hot Cajun meal. The course is taught by the certified police training staff of the sheriff’s office with over 70 years of police, military, and civilian training.
To reserve a seat call the training center at 337-948-7599. If the office is closed, leave a message. The staff will call back a week prior to confirm. All proceeds go to local charities and the course is 100% non-profit. In the past donations have been made to Shriners, eye and speech foundations, Dyslexia foundations, community health units, and youth charities, etc.

Public rosary set Sunday
There will be a public rosary at 2 p.m. Sunday, at the parking lot of Tom Klumpp Equipment, 4160 Basile/Eunice Highway.
The public is invited. Prayers will be extended to those children that are victims of human sex trafficing.

VFW bingo Thursday & Sundays
The VFW Post 8971 will hold Bingo. The public is invited each Thursday and Sunday at 7 p.m. to play Bingo at the VFW Hall located on Hwy. 190 East. All proceeds from Bingo games goes back to the community.
There will be a New game offered.
The VFW Hall doors open at 4 p.m.

Clovis Crawfish books on sale
The City of Eunice is selling Clovis Crawfish books by Mary Alice Fontenot as a fundraiser for the city’s 125th anniversary.
Anyone wishing to buy a book is asked to call 337-457-7389, extension 1, or 337-305-3672.

VA van trips are available again
The Veterans Administration (VA) has started making van trips to the facilities, Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Riders are asked to meet at the Eunice City Hall parking lot.

Vet organizations seek members
The three veterans organizations in Eunice are looking for new members. American Legion Post 129, VFW Post 8971 and the DAV chapter are welcoming new members.

St. Louis Cemetery asking for donations
The St. Louis Cemetery, located at the corner of St. Louis Road and Sittig in Eunice is seeking donations for the upkeep and maintenance of the cemetery. The cemetery strictly operates by donations and volunteers. The cemetery is not a private one.
Families who wish to donate are asked to send to Keith Lavergne, cemetery manager, at St. Louis Cemetery, P.O. Box 325, Eunice, LA 70535.

Free hearing aids, amplified phones
Free amplified telephones and hearing aids are available to Louisiana residents. The program is funded by a state agency, Louisiana Commission for the Deaf.

Funeral honor guard for vets needs help
A foundation has been set for the St Landry Parish Veteran Funeral Honor Guard and now it needs donations to become a reality, according to Lincoln “Link” Savoie, coordinator.
