EPT presents ‘Red, White & Tuna’
Eunice Player’s Theatre will present “Red, White and Tuna” beginning July 27.
The presentation, by Jaston Williams, Joe Sears, and Ed Howard will be July 27, July 28, July 29, July 30, and Aug. 2, a dinner theater will be offered; Aug. 4, Aug. 5 and Aug. 6.
The play is directed by Ching Wasmuth and will star Dr. Kevin Miller and Van Reed.
Evening performances begin at 7 p.m., and Sunday performance begin at 2 p.m.

CFMA scholarship to be awarded
The CFMA (Cajun French Music Association) Acadiana Charter Chapter will award a $500 scholarship beginning in the fall semester ($250 per semester). Applicants need to write a 500 word essay telling why they should be awarded a scholarship and what they know about the Cajun Culture, and why it is important to keep the present generation involved in the culture.
A transcript of grades from last school attended and proof of enrollment for the fall semester is required.

Unity Family offers Children’s Ministry
The Unity Family Worship Center located at 1220 E. Maple, in Eunice will offer Children’s Ministry every Wednesday from 10 a.m. until noon. until school starts.
It’s a free event and gives children the opportunity to study God’s word. Lunch is provided. The children’s study is designed for children ages 4-12.

Parents Out Reach host BBQ fundraiser
The Parents Outreach Club will host a BBQ fundraiser on Saturday, July 22 from 10 a.m. until in efforts to raise money for the 26th annual Back to School Fun Day.
The dinners will be sold at the Kim’s Market parking lot at 611 E. Laurel Avenue in Eunice.

Greater True Light Chorus Aug. 19
The Greater True Light Baptist Church in Eunnice will celebrate its 16th year Annual Male Chorus Musical on Saturday, Aug. 19 at 6 p.m.
On Sunday, Aug. 20 at 8:30 a.m. service the church will have its 19th annual Brotherhood Men’s Day Service.

Free child car seat installation
Free installation of child car safety seats is being offered from 4 to 6 p.m. every Monday at Word Ministries, 1960 W. Laurel Ave., Eunice.
The seats will be installed by a nationally certified technicians.
Saturday programs at the Prairie Acadian Cultural Center
Saturday programs at the Prairie Acadian Cultural Center, 250 W. Park Ave., Eunice, are the Explore & Restore craft workshop for kids, from 10 a.m. to noon; Cajun Conversations meets 1 to 2:30 p.m. to learn and practice conversational Cajun French; Music and dancing kicks off at 2:45 p.m. and ends with the cooking demonstration and sampling at 4 p.m. Admission to the center and programs is free.

VFW bingo held Thursdays, Sundays
The VFW Post 8971 holds bingo for the public at 7 p.m. every Thursday and Sunday at the VFW Hall located on U.S. 190 East. All proceeds from Bingo games goes back to the community.

Knights of Columbus sells white crosses
The Eunice Knights of Columbus Council 1745 is currently selling white crosses to be placed in yards.
The crosses are available from Bill Parrie at 251 N. 6th St., or at Bertrand’s Printing, or in front of St. Anthony Church after each morning Mass at 7 a.m., 9 a.m., and 11 a.m.
A $5 donation is requested.
Funeral honor guard for vets needs help
A foundation has been set for the St Landry Parish Veteran Funeral Honor Guard and now it needs donations to become a reality, according to Lincoln “Link” Savoie, coordinator.
