Acadia Parish school supply drive
The Acadia Parish Sheriff’s Office, along with police departments will be hosting a back to school supply drive.
The drive began Wednesday will end Aug. 3. Items can be dropped off at any one of the following locations: Acadia Parish Sheriff’s Office, Rayne Police Department, Iota Police Department, Church Point Police Department, Mermentau City Hall and Morse City Hall.
All supplies will be accepted.

EHS will hold late registration July 31
Eunice High School will hold late registration Monday from 8 a.m. until 11 a.m. at the school. This registration is for All grades.
Rotary golf tourney set for Aug. 12
The Eunice Rotary Club will hold a golf tournament Aug. 12 at Koasati Pines at Coushatta Casino in Kinder.
The cost is $100 per player or $400 a team.
All proceeds goes to the Eunice Community Health Center.
Registration and payment deadline is Aug. 10.
Sign-up is at 7 a.m. with the shotgun start set for 8:30 a.m.
There will be awards for all three flights and all participants will receive a golf voucher.

United Way school supply drive planned
The St. Landry-Evangeline United Way will hold a school supply drive from July 31 to Aug. 4.
Drop-off will be from from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at KBON, 109 S. 2nd St., Eunice; 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in Opelousas at the St. Landry-Evangeline United Way office, located at 311 W. Vine St.; and from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Ville Platte City Hall.
Needed items include backpacks, calculators, pencils, pens, crayons, markers, art and craft supplies, copy paper, construction paper, glue sticks, tape, notebooks, rulers, scissors, three-ring binders, folders, paper towels, hand sanitizer and Kleenex. Gift cards are also appreciated.
EPT presents ‘Red, White & Tuna’
Eunice Player’s Theatre will present “Red, White and Tuna” beginning Thursday.
The presentation, by Jaston Williams, Joe Sears, and Ed Howard will be today, Friday, Saturday, July 30, and Aug. 2, a dinner theater will be offered; Aug. 4, Aug. 5 and Aug. 6.
The play is directed by Ching Wasmuth and will star Dr. Kevin Miller and Van Reed.
Evening performances begin at 7 p.m., and Sunday performances begin at 2 p.m.

Unity Family offers Children’s Ministry
The Unity Family Worship Center located at 1220 E. Maple, in Eunice will offer Children’s Ministry every Wednesday from 10 a.m. until noon. until school starts.
It’s a free event and gives children the opportunity to study God’s word. Lunch is provided. The children’s study is designed for children ages 4-12.

CFMA scholarship to be awarded
The CFMA (Cajun French Music Association) Acadiana Charter Chapter will award a $500 scholarship beginning in the fall semester ($250 per semester). Applicants need to write a 500-word essay telling why they should be awarded a scholarship and what they know about the Cajun Culture, and why it is important to keep the present generation involved in the culture.
A transcript of grades from last school attended and proof of enrollment for the fall semester is required.

The Laissez Les Bons Temps Rouler Au Rendez-Vous De Cajuns is scheduled at the Liberty every Saturday from 6 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. with live entertainment.

The Greater True Light Baptist Church in Eunnice will celebrate its 16th year Annual Male Chorus Musical on Saturday, Aug. 19 at 6 p.m.
On Sunday, Aug. 20 at 8:30 a.m. service the church will have its 19th annual Brotherhood Men’s Day Service.

Free child car seat installation
Free installation of child car safety seats is being offered from 4 to 6 p.m. every Monday at Word Ministries, 1960 W. Laurel Ave., Eunice.
The seats will be installed by a nationally certified technicians.
