Parish ordinance regulates noise

The St. Landry Parish Council beefed up its ordinance to combat loud noise. The law is applicable 24-hours-a-day, but targets 11 p.m. to 8 a.m. in particular. The gist of the ordinance, which applies to unincorporated St. Landry Parish, is to regulate amplification systems and forbid sound exceeding 85 decibels at a distance of 50 feet or greater.
