More than 1,800 full-time St. Landry Parish School Board employees are receiving a $1,000 annual pay raise.
The raise was approved on a 5-3 vote at a meeting on July 3 ending about a month of public discussions.
The approval moves the district’s starting teacher pay to $43,000 a year.
