At this month’s council meeting, the Village of Pine Prairie discussed new police units and mosquito control.
Mayor Quint West informed the council that he is upbeat about getting new police units from Bossier City. The mayor also informed the council that town workers have been cleaning the ditches “People have noticed that we have cleaned the ditches and are giving the town a lot of compliments about how great the town looks,” West said.
The Mayor further informed the council that the village sprayed for mosquitoes for the second home game of the season at the Pine Praire High School football field. I” was told it worked because you couldn’t even step outside without them biting you, but nobody complained at the field,” West said.
The council also touched upon properties inside the village. “Most people have cleaned their properties, West stated. “Those people who didn’t clean their properties yet will be getting a letter next week.”
Potholes will be fixed on Oak Street and on Prison Road, and street light bulbs will be checked at the beginning of the month.
