With all 13 St. Landry Parish Council members present there could be seven votes needed to elect a chairman and that’s how many Jerry Red got at Wednesday’s meeting. The Council voted in January on its leadership, but with an absence and abstaining vote, the required seven votes could not be achieved. Red and Nancy Carriere were the nominees for chairman.
