Road work bid selected

The city will pave sections of 23 streets beginning in late July in an overlay program that occurs every other year.
Aldermen approved Coastal Bridge Co., of Baton Rouge, as the low bidder at $789,265.
The road work totals about 3.7 miles. The city has from 50 to 60 miles of roads.
The work is to be completed by Oct. 1.
The road program,which is funded by a sales tax, has been ongoing for about 20 years.
The city also is receiving a $450,867 state grant to improve 11 streets in the Happy Hill area of northeast Eunice.
The streets to be improved include Mathilde, Kyries Hebert, Fruge, Stone, Goldman, Weaver, Aferica, (north) Beulah, (east) Vine, (east) Peach and Clark.
The streets in the city’s overlay program include the following.
