The St. Landry Parish School Board voted to ban hoodies, approved live-streaming its meetings and began the search for a new superintendent at its meeting Thursday.
Dwanetta Scott. supervisor of Child Welfare and Attendance, explained the hoodie prohibition is a safety issue.
Wearing hoodies limits the ability to identify wearers and allows items to be hidden, she said.
