A spirited battle over control of sewer treatment facility south of Opelousas seemed to be settled at the St. Landry Parish Council meeting on Tuesday.
On an 8-5 vote Parish President Jessie Bellard’s veto of an ordinance that would have turned the plant over to the City of Opelousas was upheld.
Overturning the veto would have taken nine votes.
