A Eunice man has been arrested as the result of a road rage incident on La. 13 in northern Acadia Parish, according to Acadia Parish Sheriff KP Gibson.
Deputies were dispatched to the area of north La. 13 regarding a vehicle being chased by another vehicle. Deputies were able to locate and stop one of the vehicles near the Acadia Parish / St. Landry Parish line.
“During the investigation, deputies discovered that the suspect in this case became upset as a vehicle passed him. The suspect then fired multiple shots into the victim’s vehicle. Our deputies intercepted the ‘chase’ and were able to stop the suspect vehicle. The victim in this case proceeded to the Eunice Police Department for his safety” Gibson said in a news release.
The suspect has been identified as Mark Miller, 34 of Eunice. Miller has been charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and aggravated criminal damage to property, Gibson said.
Gibson said the charges against Miller were upgraded to attempted murder charges.
“I believe that shooting into a vehicle that is occupied, justifies an attempted murder charge. Our investigators will be adding these charges today,” Gibson said Wednesday.
