A solar farm may be coming to St. Landry Parish.
Parish President Jessie Bellard reported to the Parish Council that leases are already in place for 1,300 acres in the the Washington, Grand Prairie, Plaisance area.
The lease is by a a subsidiary of BP (British Petroleum), which is to invest about $20 million in the project, he said at the June 1 Parish Council Public Works Committee meeting.
