Substitute teachers voted a pay raise

Substitute certified teachers in the St. Landry Parish public schools will get a raise from $70 to $90 a day. The School Board approved the raise unanimously at its meeting on Thursday. When a delay seemed imminent, Board member Hazel Sias protested that the issue has been going “back and forth” and it is time for a vote.
