Old and new tires were added to the list of items that includes junked or abandoned motor vehicles.
Council member Wayne Ardoin handled the addition to the ordinance targeting the tires.
Ardoin said during a public hearing that a family in his district owns a tire company and “...decided they were going to store their tires in the yard next to all of the neighbors.”
