Verbal altercation at a residence sends one into custody

Caldrick Devon Hurse, 19, of Eunice was arrested without incident and charged with aggravated assault with a firearm. According to Eunice Police Chief Kyle LeBouef, “On Tuesday, Oct. 7, Eunice Police were notified of an incident in which an individual had a gun pointed in his face while at a residence on Gaspard Street.
“An investigation revealed that a verbal altercation between the victim and the suspect had ensued inside of the residence, and then later continued outside of the residence. At some point during the verbal altercation, the suspect produced a handgun and pointed it at the victim’s face.
“A relative intervened, and the suspect eventually left the residence. Officers were able to locate the suspect, later identified as Caldrick Devon Hurse, 19, Eunice, and take him into custody without incident. The handgun was recovered and secured as evidence. Hurse was charged with aggravated assault with a firearm. No injuries were reported.”
