The questions that arose recently at the St. Landry Parish Council seem like ones that should have been settled years ago.
But the Council may ask for a judicial ruling on how many votes it takes to pass something.
Is it a majority of members who are present?
Or, is it a majority of the membership? If that’s the case, seven votes are need to pass an ordinance or resolution.
