UL Lafayette biologist’s vegetable research for NASA headed to space today

Radishes will soon enter the realm of asteroids, stars and cosmic dust, thanks to University of Louisiana at Lafayette researcher Dr. Karl Hasenstein. Hasenstein, a professor of biology in the Ray P. Authement College of Sciences, is sending radish seeds to the International Space Station.

Arboretum to hold eclipse event

Weather permitting; the Louisiana State Arboretum will hold an eclipse viewing of the Great American Eclipse on Monday. Viewing of the eclipse will take place from noon to 2:30 p.m. at the nature center. Staff will provide information on eclipses along with games and crafts.
