Louisiana’s Arbor Day will be celebrated with a tree seedling giveaway at Chicot State Park from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.
The tree seedling giveaway will take place at Pavilion 1 near the splashpad in Chicot State Park.
Tree seedlings to be given away include American Beech, Bald Cypress, Buttonbush, Dahoon Holly, Green Ash, Pignut Hickory, Redbud, River Birch and Shumard Oak.
The public is asked to keep safe by following Covid-19 safety guidelines.
The Arboretum Nature Center will be closed on Saturday but the trails will be open and accessible through the Caroline Dormon Lodge entrance.
The park is located six miles north of Ville Platte in Evangeline Parish on La. 3042.
