By Saydie Stanley Staff Writer Construction on the house at 702 Rue Dauphine started in 1976. Erich Loewer Jr. and Jane Loewer put a sawmill on the property and cut the beams to size. All woodwork including cabinets, doors, and windows were cut and built on site. The architect was Fabian Patin; the contractor was Jim Spell. The wood is longleaf pine and cypress.
