Free COVID-19 tests were given to 110 people Thursday at Eunice High School, according to Van Reed, parish director of Emergency Preparedness.
The tests were administered by National Guard soldiers from Abbeville.
The testing was coordinated by the Louisiana Department of Health and St. Landry Parish Government.
Administering the test to each person was Ethan Tippitt. Two National Guard soldiers manning the table and doing paper work were Kirk Deville and Hobie Polse.
Other National Guard representatives were on hand meeting people at their vehicles writing and taking paperwork from each person.
In addition to Eunice, 36 tests were done at Palmetto, and 25 tests were done in Grand Prairie earlier in the week.
Additional testing from 8 to 11 a.m. is planned on:
— June 24, Sunset, Sunset Middle School, 236 Churchill St.;
— June 24, Krotz Springs, Krotz Springs Elementary School, 445 Division St.;
— June 25, Port Barre, Port Barre Elementary School, 199 O. G. Track Road;
— June 30, Leonville, Leonville Elementary, 3774 La. 31;
— July 1, LeBeau, North Central High School, 6579 La. 10;
— July 2, Eunice, Eunice High School, 301 S. Bobcat Dr.; and
— July 7, Opelousas, Opelousas Civic Center, 1638 Creswell Lane.
