Acadian Medical Center announces year’s first baby

Owen Dean Christ is the first baby of the new year born at Acadian Medical Center in Eunice.
Owen was born at 6:32 p.m. Jan. 1 and weighed 6 pounds and 14 ounces and measured 19 3/4 inches long.
His parents, Logan and Kristie Christ, are from Mamou. Maternal grandparents are Junice Fontenot of Mamou and Jody and Kim Soileau of Mamou. Paternal grandparents are Scotty and Roxy Christ of Mamou.
Owen does have an older sister Lyla Rose Christ, 3, who according to her mother cannot wait to meet her brother.
Kristie’s OB/gyn doctor is Dr. Monty Heinen. Dr. Kayla Fontenot, OB/gyn doctor, delivered Owen. Owen’s pediatrician is Dr. Charice Hebert.
Kristie was very much surprised to deliver the first baby of the new year as her due date was Jan. 11.
The Christs have been married for five years. Kristie is employed as a physical therapist assistant with Cora Manuel Therapy Services in Mamou, and Logan is employed as a production operator for BP.
The Christ family received baskets of baby formula, blanket, diapers and many other baby products from Acadian Medical Center in honor of first New Year baby of the year born.
