BATON ROUGE – LSU Eunice used a standout day from Peyton LeJeune to pave the way towards a sweep of Baton Rouge CC at Southern University's Lee-Hines Stadium.

The Bengals (35-3) scored their ninth doubleheader sweep of the season.

LeJeune collected eight hits over the two games, driving in 10 runs and scoring four times.

The Teurlings Catholic product drove in four runs in a 15-5 opener, followed by a perfect 5-for-5 game in an 18-0 rout of the Bears.

The Bengals collected five home runs over the twinbill including a pair from LeJeune.

LSUE 15, BRCC 5

A five-run second inning helped jumpstart LSU Eunice on its way to a 15-5 victory over Baton Rouge CC in seven innings.

The Bengals scored 12 unanswered runs to secure their 13th mercy rule victory of the season.

After BRCC opened the scoring with a home run in the bottom of the first, the Bengals responded with authority plating five runs off seven hits.

The first five batters reached base safely with Beau Kirsch and Brady Hebert connecting on tworun base hits.

The Bengals would push the lead to 6-1 in the fourth, capitalizing off one of five Bear errors that allowed Carter Quinn to score.

LSUE went ahead for good with a six-run sixth inning, as five different Bengals drove in runs.

After BRCC crept back to make it 12-3, LeJeune blasted a three-run home run to end the Bengal scoring.

LeJeune went 3-for-4 with 4 RBIs and a run scored to lead the 18-hit attack.

Hebert and Hunter Tabb also had three hit games while Jack Merrifield, Scott Jones and Kirsch added multi-hit outings.

The offensive explosion was aided by a complete game effort from Jerry Couch. The sophomore improved to 9-1 on the campaign after scattering eight hits and one walk while striking out four batters.

LSUE 18, BRCC 0

The Bengal bats continued to catch fire as LSUE won 18-0 in five innings to close out the twinbill.

LSUE saw nine different players record a hit as the Bengals pounded nine extra base hits.

The Bengals scored in each inning as Jarrett McDonald started the runaway win with a tworun double in the first inning.

The lead swelled to 4-0 an inning later after Brady Hebert and Peyton LeJeune drove in runs.

LeJeune was a catalyst throughout the game, going a perfect 5-for-5 with six RBIs and three runs scored.

LeJeune would drive in at least a run in four of the five innings and finish a triple shy of the cycle.

The third inning saw LSUE blast four home runs with Jarrett McDonald, Scott Jones, Beau Kirsch and LeJeune all connecting on round trippers.

McDonald knocked his team's best 11th of the season.

After adding three more runs in the fourth, the Bengals pumped in five more in the fifth including Bryce LaRocca, Thomas Papadopoulos and Cole Romero who drove in runs in pinch hit opportunities.

Jackson Rodriguez delivered a second straight complete game performance from the LSUE pitching staff.

The freshman gave up just two hits with five strikeouts. Rodrigurez retired the first six batters he faced in order, would only see three hitters reach base and induced a game ending double play.
