Anna Mendoza receives a first dose of Pfizer vaccination from RN Jamie Guillory at a free Sleeves Up vaccination event held at Acadian Medical Center. Mendoza was at Acadian Medical Center with Daniel Farjondo, Maria Mendosa and Paula Mendoza, all of Colombia. Paula Mendosa said they flew to Miami and New Orleans, and then drove to Eunice to get their first vaccination. They plan to fly back to Eunice on May 7 for their second dose of the vaccination. “Our original plans was to receive the one dose of J&J/Janssen vaccination, but since that is on a FDA pause, we kept our appointments, and will get our two doses,” she said. The Louisiana Department of Health and Acadian Medical Center teamed up Friday to administer a first dose Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine.
