Death in Acadia Parish attributed to storm

Acadia Parish experienced a storm related death Wednesday, according to Sheriff KP Gibson.
The incident occurred in the 3500 block of the Eunice-Iota Highway just north of Iota. The occurred as a tree fell and struck a home. One of the occupants, identified as Jimmy Cart, 68, died as a result of this incident.
Additionally, the parish curfew will continue tonight from dusk till dawn due to dawn due to high percentage of electrical services being out. The Town of Church Point is not included in this curfew as power has been restored to their community, Gibson said.
