District attorney candidates report campaign finances total over $327,000

Candidates for St. Landry Parish district attorney in the Nov. 3 election — Charles Cravins and Chad Pitre — report a total of $327,496 in receipts on the campaign finance reports.
The reports filed with the Louisiana Board of Ethics are available online. The reports are required to filed 30 days prior to the election. The deadline was Monday and the Cravins report was filed Sept. 29 and Pitre’s report was filed Sept. 25.
None of the candidates for Eunice city marshal have filed reports and are not required if the spending if they spend over $2,500 or collect donations more than $200 from a single source.
Candidates for Eunice city marshal are incumbent Terry Darbonne and challengers Marcus Bergeron and Gerald Watley.
The race for 27th Judicial District district attorney is the only parishwide parish parish election on the Nov. 3 ballot.
Cravins is running as the incumbent having been appointed by Earl Taylor, who retired in February after 23 years in office.
Cravins’ report is from Jan. 1 to Sept. 24 and lists total receipts of $221,266.24 and total disbursements of $39,273.05. He reported funds on hand at $161,806.94.
Pitre’s report if from Feb. 12 to Sept. 24 and lists total receipts of $106.230.06 and disbursements of $84,857.88. The reports lists funds on hand at $21,982.85.
