Dukes of Hazzard star to perform Friday at the Liberty
One of the stars of The Dukes of Hazzard, John Schneider, will be performing at the Liberty Theater Friday.
Schneider, who played Bo Duke on the television series that ran from 1979 to 1985, now calls Holden home.
Schneider has been in the series Smallville and is now on The Haves and the Have Nots.
As Schneider said in a telephone interview, he has been in America’s living rooms for 40 years.
The Liberty show will include time for fans to meet him, he said.
Schneider is performing with the Stars & Bars Band.
Also scheduled to perform are Joe-El Sonnier with the Louisiana Yard Dogs.
The theme from The Dukes of Hazzard is on the playlist, he said,
But the concert will include Christmas songs.
Besides acting, Schneider has been a singer throughout his career with several hits such as “I’ve been Around Enough to Know.” He plans to perform that hit with Sonnier.
In Louisiana, he has produced 10 movies at the studio in Holden that’s been in operation since 2011.
He will be selling DVDs of his latest movie, Christmas Cars, at the Liberty.
Schneider said he spend much of his time editing when he is not touring, and creating albums and films.
The Laissez Les Bons Temps Rouler Au Rendez-Vous De Cajuns is scheduled at the Liberty every from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Friday with live entertainment.
The Liberty opens at 4 p.m. the show begins at 6 p.m.
