Duplechain announces for St. Landry Parish assessor

Garett R. Duplechain has announced his candidacy for St. Landry Parish assessor in the Oct. 12 election.
His announcement includes the following.
“My fellow citizens of St. Landry Parish, I will be a candidate for assessor of St. Landry Parish in the election in October.
“I grew up in Opelousas and went to college and law school at LSU.
“I have been an assistant district attorney for 12 years and am currently the parish attorney for St. Landry Parish government. I served as the city attorney for the City of Opelousas for two years. I have practiced law, including the area of property law, 25 years. I am a member of the Opelousas Kiwanis Club, past president.
“I am married to Lia Reed Duplechain and we have two daughters, Elizabeth and Ann Marie.”
